San Diego Padres shortstop Everth Cabrera will not play again this season, manager Bud Black confirmed on Wednesday, according to U-T San Diego

Cabrera has not played since Aug. 9. He went on the disabled list with a hamstring injury, then was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of marijuana on Sept. 3.

The 27-year-old returned to San Diego after working out in Arizona at the team's training complex, but Black said his hamstring is not well enough to play.

On Dec. 7, Cabrera has an arraignment that will determine whether charges will be filed against him for the arrest.

Cabrera played 90 games for the Padres in 2014, hitting .232 with three home runs, 20 RBI and 18 stolen bases.
