Braves make qualifying offer to pitcher Ervin Santana

The Atlanta Braves have made a qualifying offer for 2015 to pitcher Ervin Santana, the team announced Monday

Santana, who made $14.1 million in 2014, now has one week to accept or decline the $15.3 million, one-year offer. 

If Santana declines the offer and ends up signing with another team, the Braves will receive a draft pick as compensation.

The 31-year-old went 14-10 in 2014 with a 3.95 ERA and 179 strikeouts in 196 innings. He spent the first eight years of his career with the Angels before being traded to the Royals in 2012. After one year in Kansas City, he signed with the Braves in March. 

Santana was an All-Star in 2008 and threw a no-hitter in 2011. He has a career 4.17 ERA.
