The Washington Nationals are expected to be announced as the host of the 2018 MLB All-Star Game, reports The Washington Post.

According to the Post report, the organization has already been told that Nationals Park will host the game and an announcement is expected before commissioner Bud Selig retires at the end of January.

Last week, the league announced that the San Diego Padres will host the 2016 MLB All-Star Game at Petco Park.

The Nationals have yet to host the All-Star Game in Washington, D.C. However the franchise did host it in 1982 when it was the Montreal Expos. The All-Star Game was hosted in D.C. by the Washington Senators four times, most recently in 1969 at RFK Stadium.

The 2015 All-Star Game will be played in Cincinnati at the Reds' Great American Ballpark.
