Red Sox to rest David Ortiz after dehydration

Red Sox designated hitter David Ortiz will rest the next couple of days due to dehydration. Ortiz has four hits in 15 at-bats this spring.

The Red Sox will rest designated hitter David Ortiz after he experienced dehydration, manager John Farrell told reporters on Wednesday. 

"I'm old, man," the 39-year-old Ortiz said, according to the Boston Herald. "Old men got to take it easy."

Ortiz also said that it is "the hottest spring training" that he has experienced in some time.

The designated hitter has four hits in 15 spring training at-bats. Ortiz hit .263 with 35 home runs and 104 RBIs in 2014 for the Red Sox.
