GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) Chicago White Sox ace Chris Sale threw a bullpen session and said he's making progress while recovering from a broken foot.

He threw from the mound on Friday, just three weeks after injuring his foot.

''I figured three weeks was like, OK, we can start walking around and moving around,'' the All-Star left-hander said Saturday. ''It actually ended up being a lot better than I thought. Not trying to get ahead of ourselves, but hopefully it keeps going that way and we'll be out there pretty soon.''

Sale hopes to be back soon - maybe the second week of the regular season, he said.

He started throwing against a wall on one knee just four days after the broken foot was diagnosed on Feb. 27, but said he needs to work on the other aspects of the game before he can return.

''We're going to start working on getting a little bit more mobile on Monday, moving around, ground balls, side-to-side stuff,'' he said.

Sale added he's been restless while waiting to get back to baseball.

''I watched every episode of `Breaking Bad' in 18 days,'' he said.
