Report: Cubs sign P Felipe Paulino to minor-league contract

The Chicago Cubs have signed pitcher Felipe Paulino to a minor-league contract, according to Baseball America.

Paulino appeared in four games with the Chicago White Sox last season, recording an 11.29 ERA with 14 strikeouts and 12 walks.

He made four relief appearances in Grapefruit League games for the Boston Red Sox this spring before being released.

The 31-year-old has also had stints with the Houston Astros, Colorado Rockies and Kansas City Royals

Over 65 career starts, Paulino has posted a 5.22 ERA with 373 strikeouts and 172 walks. He last pitched a full season in the majors in 2011 with Colorado and Kansas City.
