Carolina Mudcats in Myrtle Beach after early morning wreck

CHADBOURN, N.C. (AP) The Carolina Mudcats baseball team has finally arrived in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, after an early morning wreck sent several players to the hospital.

Multiple media outlets reported the bus carrying the Atlanta Braves' Class-A affiliate team it flipped on its side near Chadbourn shortly before 4 a.m. Tuesday.

Emergency Services Director Kay Worley told WECT-TV (http://bit.ly/1ExNbP2) that eight players and a trainer were taken to Columbus Regional Hospital for treatment. Everyone was released later Tuesday morning and the entire staff and full roster of players made the trip to Myrtle Beach.

Tuesday's game was postponed. A makeup date has not been determined.

The team had left Salem, Virginia, on Monday night and Worley said 33 people were on the bus.

The Braves said that the organization ''is relieved there were no serious injuries in this morning's bus accident.''

The cause of the wreck is under investigation.
