Giants to activate OF Hunter Pence off disabled list Saturday
San Francisco will activate outfielder Hunter Pence from the disabled list Saturday, when he is scheduled to make his 2015 debut for the Giants, the San Francisco Chroniclereported Friday.
One of the team's catchers, either Andrew Susac or Hector Sanchez, will be sent down to Triple A Sacramento in order to make room for Pence, according to the report.
During a five-game rehab stint in Sacramento, Pence hit two home runs in 20 plate appearances.
Pence suffered a left forearm fracture when he was hit by a pitch during a spring training game in March. At the time of the injury, Pence held a major-league streak of 383 consecutive games played.
Justin Maxwell replaced Pence in rightfield for the Giants during the first six weeks of the 2015 season, hitting .250 with three home runs and 15 RBI.
In 2014, Pence hit .277 with 20 home runs and 74 RBI. He was second in the National League in runs scored with 106.
