BOSTON (AP) The New York Yankees have called up second baseman Rob Refsnyder from the minor leagues.

The 24-year-old infielder was in the lineup, batting ninth for his major league debut against the Boston Red Sox on Saturday night.

Infielder Cole Figueroa was sent down to Triple-A to make room for Refsnyder on the 25-man roster. Outfielder Mason Williams was transferred from the 15-day to the 60-day disabled list to make room for Refsnyder on the 40-man roster.

Refsnyder is one of the Yankees' top prospects. He was hitting .290 with seven homers and 37 RBIs in 81 games in Triple-A. He was a member of the Arizona team that won the 2012 College World Series.

According to the Yankees, Refsnyder is the fourth Korean-born position player in major league history.
