The Cleveland Indians have placed infielder Mike Aviles on the family medical emergency list so he can tend to his four-year-old daughter Adriana, who has leukemia.

This is Aviles's second stint on the family medical emergency list this season. He was placed on the list from May 8 to May 14 after Adriana was diagnosed with leukemia.

In May, Indians players and staff shaved their heads in support of Aviles' family, as well as owner Paul Dolan.

The Akron Beacon-Journal reports Aviles is with his daughter at the Cleveland Clinic. He can remain on the list for seven days.

The Indians recalled shortstop Jose Ramirez in a corresponding move. Aviles is batting .250 with four home runs and nine RBIs this season.
