LOS ANGELES (AP) The Dodgers signed first-round draft pick pitcher Walker Buehler, but failed to reach a deal with Kyle Funkhouser, making the Louisville pitcher the only first-round selection not to sign.

Buehler, the 24th overall pick, received a signing bonus of $1,777,500.

The right-hander out of Vanderbilt University had a 4-2 record with a 2.97 ERA in 14 starts this season. The 20-year-old junior made his Dodger Stadium debut in March, when he started for the Commodores in the College Baseball Classic, allowing one run and three hits with five strikeouts in four innings.

Buehler was 20-7 with 2.88 ERA in 49 games, striking out 249 and walking 83 during his college career.

The Dodgers made right-hander Funkhouser the 35th overall pick, but they couldn't agree on compensation and he will stay in school.
