LOS ANGELES (AP) Clayton Kershaw's next start for the Los Angeles Dodgers has been bumped to Saturday, and Zack Greinke has been moved up to start Friday night against the Angels.
The Dodgers announced the switch about four hours before the Freeway Series opener.
Kershaw has a streak of 29 consecutive scoreless innings. His next start already had been delayed from Wednesday due to soreness in his left hip.
''As much as anything, we're just making sure that everything's good,'' manager Don Mattingly said. ''He threw yesterday before his (charity bowling) event, and we knew he was feeling good. But we wanted to give him the extra day and keep Zack on (his regular rest).''
Greinke's streak of 45 2-3 consecutive scoreless innings ended Sunday against the Mets.
The Dodgers also added their recent trade acquisitions to their active roster: left-hander Alex Wood and relievers Jim Johnson and Luis Avilan.
Los Angeles put third baseman Justin Turner on the 15-day disabled list with a right thigh infection.
''He's going to need extended time, from the standpoint of taking care of this thing,'' Mattingly said. ''When we found out, Stan (head trainer Stan Conte) was taking about another six to seven days before he was going to be able to start doing stuff.
''This thing's got to get closed and get healed before we start doing anything. So at that point, we're into 10 or 11 days. So that's too much. I mean, he can't do anything right now, so that's part of the issue. Then we can move forward. So we're just going to have to bite the bullet for now. But we're just making sure that the infection doesn't go in a different direction.''
