BOSTON (AP) The Red Sox recalled infielder Travis Shaw from Triple-A Pawtucket for Saturday's game against the Tampa Bay Rays.

To make room, Boston optioned right-hander Jonathan Aro to Pawtucket.

Shaw started and played third base, hitting his first major league homer.

The 25-year-old Shaw is back with the Red Sox for the fifth time this season. He was 3 for 15 in his previous stints.

The 24-year-old Aro was up with the club for the second time after being recalled Thursday, but didn't get into a game during his recent stay.

The team also announced that infielder Jemile Weeks cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A.
