San Francisco Giants pitcher Mike Leake has been scratched from his scheduled Friday start after an MRI showed a mild left hamstring strain.
Giants manager Bruce Bochy told reporters he hopes Leake only has to miss one start, adding that the pitcher thought the injury was cramps at first.
On the season, Leake is 9–6 with a 3.52 ERA and 1.168 WHIP in 143 innings.
San Francisco opens up a four-game series against the Cubs on Thursday.
