The Chicago Cubs still lack a timetable for rightfielder Jorge Soler's return to the lineup, according to a report by Patrick Mooney of CSN Chicago.

Soler, who is out with a left oblique injury, was put on the 15-day disabled list on Aug. 24. Mooney reported that Soler hopes to swing a bat on Friday, and that he does not think his injury will end his season.

In his second season with Chicago, Soler is hitting .265 with seven home runs, 18 doubles and 42 RBIs.

The Cubs are in third place in the NL Central with a 75–56 record and are currently in possession of the second Wild Card spot.
