Watch: Cubs 3B Kris Bryant hits 495-foot home run

Watch the Chicago Cubs rookie hit the longest home run of the season.

Cubs rookie third baseman Kris Bryant clubbed a mammoth home run in the fifth inning of Chicago’s 6–4 win over the Diamondbacks on Sunday.

Bryant’s shot traveled a projected 495 feet, eclipsing Michael Taylor’s 493-foot round-tripper as the longest of home run this season.

According to MLB’s Statcast, the ball left Bryant’s bat at 111.5 miles per hour.

Bryant’s solo homer gave him 85 RBIs on the season, which is tied for the most of any Cubs rookie in franchise history.

With the victory, the Cubs remained 7 1/2 games up on the Nationals in the NL Wild Card race.
