Astros pitcher Scott Feldman will miss the rest of the 2015 season due to a sprained right shoulder, the team announced on Friday.

The right-handed pitcher left with discomfort in his shoulder during the third inning of a game against the Seattle Mariners on Sept. 1.

After an MRI on Thursday, Astros general manager Jeff Lunhow came to the conclusion that Feldman should sit out for the remainder of the year.

He missed about two months earlier in the season following arthroscopic knee surgery.

Feldman started 18 games with the Astros this season. The 32-year-old had an ERA of 3.90 and had 61 strikeouts in 108.1 innings.
