The Pittsburgh Pirates will host the Chicago Cubs in the NL wild-card game at PNC Park on Wednesday night at 8 p.m. ET.

The NL Central was home to the teams with the three best records in baseball this season, forcing the Pirates (98–64) and Cubs (97–65) to battle it out for the right to face the NL Central champion St. Louis Cardinals (100-62) in the Division Series. The best-of-five NLDS begins on Friday in St. Louis.

Cy Young candidate Jake Arrieta will take the bump for Chicago, while Gerrit Cole will pitch for Pittsburgh.

Arrieta, who was 22–6 with a 1.77 ERA in 33 starts in the regular season, went 3–1 with a 0.75 ERA in five starts against the Pirates in 2015. Cole posted a 19–8 record with a 2.60 ERA in 32 starts, and was 2–1 with a 2.13 ERA in four starts against the Cubs this year.

The Cubs edged the Pirates 11 games to eight in the season series.

Pittsburgh will begin its third-straight postseason, while Chicago enters the playoffs for the first time since 2008.
