Carlos Beltran will start for the Yankees one day after the birth of his child.

New York Yankees outfielder Carlos Beltran will start in Tuesday’s AL wild-card game one day after the birth of his child, according to Baseball Tonight.

Beltran will start in rightfield and bat third against the Houston Astros. The winner of the game will face the Kansas City Royals in the divisional round of the playoffs.

Beltran hit .276 with 19 home runs and 67 RBIs in 133 games during the regular season. He had an on-base percentage of .337.

Beltran, 38, has played in 51 postseason games, recording 16 home runs and 40 RBIs with a slash line of .333/.445/.683.
