Pirates, Marlins to play two regular-season games in Puerto Rico
The Marlins and Pirates will play two regular-season games in Puerto Rico next season, during which MLB will honor Pirates legend Roberto Clemente, the league announced Thursday.
The games will count as Marlins home games and will be played at Hiram Bithorn Stadium in San Juan on May 30 and 31. Roberto Clemente Day will be observed on May 31, when MLB will announce the nominees for the Roberto Clemente Award for community involvement and sportsmanship.
The stadium has hosted MLB games on multiple occasions, most recently a three-game Marlins-Mets series in 2010. The Montreal Expos played 22 games there during the 2003 and 2004 seasons, before the franchise moved to Washington.

Clemente played 18 seasons in the majors, all with the Pirates. He died in December 1972 when a plane he was on that was delivering supplies to Nicaraguan earthquake victims crashed off the coast of San Juan. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1973.
