The MLB winter meetings kicked off this week, and as free-agent and trade rumors continue to swirl, we’ll likely see plenty of movement over the next couple of days in Nashville.

• Closer Aroldis Chapman allegedly fired gunshots and choked his girlfriend during a domestic violence incident in October, reports Tim Brown and Jeff Passan of Yahoo! Sports. The incident is reportedly holding up Chapman’s trade from the Cincinnati Reds to the Los Angeles Dodgers.

• Free-agent Ben Zobrist is expected to sign with a team sometime in the next 48 hours, reports Fox Sports’ Jon Morosi. He has drawn interest from the San Francisco Giants, Kansas City Royals, Washington Nationals and New York Mets.

• As many as 15 teams have interest in signing free-agent pitcher Cliff Lee, reports Jon Heyman of CBS Sports.

• The San Diego Padres have traded infielder Jedd Gyorko to the St. Louis Cardinals for centerfielder Jon Jay, reports Joel Sherman of the New York Post.

• The Baltimore Orioles have re-signed reliever Darren O’Day to a four-year, $31 million deal, reports ESPN's Jerry Crasnick.
