Phillies announce front office changes, retain Pat Gillick as advisor

The Philadelphia Philliesannounced front office changes on Monday, including the return of Pat Gillick as a senior advisor.

Gillick, 78, is a Hall of Famer and former Phillies team president. He will return to the team in 2016 as an advisor to president Andy MacPhail and general manager Matt Klentak.

Benny Looper, Philadelphia’s assistant general manager of player personnel since 2008, will also serve as a senior advisor in 2016. 

Other front office changes include former Baltimore Orioles director of major league administration Ned Rice’s move to the organization as an assistant general manager, former baseball analytics manager Scott Freedman’s promotion to director of baseball operations and former analytics intern Lewis Pollis’ shift to full-time analyst.
