Strike Zone podcast: Cricket star Kieran Powell talks MLB transition

On this week's edition of The Strike Zone podcast, former West Indies cricket star Kieran Powell talks about trying to make the jump to professional baseball.

On this week's edition of The Strike Zone podcast, Ted Keith and Stephen Cannella welcome a different kind of batter to the show: Kieran Powell, a former West Indies cricket star who's trying to make the jump into professional baseball.

Powell, who tried out for a number of major league teams last month in Florida, talks to Ted and Steve about why he decided to go from stumps and wickets to gloves and pine tar and the biggest challenges he's had to overcome in his attempt to join the Big Show. Along the way, he discusses his history with baseball, his favorite players and who he's tried to model his game after, his chances of big-league success, and whether or not he believes it's possible for other cricketers to join him in the States to make a go at a major league career.
