DUNEDIN, Fla. (AP) Former NL All-Star outfielder Domonic Brown has signed a minor league contract with the Toronto Blue Jays.

Brown signed Thursday and was invited to big league spring training.

The 2013 All-Star hit .228 with five home runs and 25 RBIs in an injury-plagued 63 games with Philadelphia last season.

The 28-year-old Brown opened last season on the disabled list with an Achilles tendon injury and did not play after Sept. 2 because of a concussion. Brown decided to become a free agent rather than accept an outright assignment to the minors after the season.

Brown is expected to compete for the fourth outfield spot with Dalton Pompey, Junior Lake and Ezequiel Carrera with the AL East champions.

''We're going to bring him in camp and see what he can do and see what he's got left,'' manager John Gibbons said. ''We're concentrating on adding depth to different positions in the organization and we'll see how it all works out.''
