Ryan Raburn agrees to minor league deal with Rockies

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (AP) Outfielder Ryan Raburn and the Colorado Rockies agreed Friday to a minor league contract.

The 34-year-old spent the past three years with the Cleveland Indians. He hit eight home runs and drove in 29 in 82 games last season, hitting .301.

''We struggled against left-handed pitchers last year, and Raburn has a great track record, especially against lefties,'' Rockies manager Walt Weiss said. ''Our outfield is relatively thin as far as depth, and I know he can do some damage.''

Detroit selected him in the fifth round of the 2001 amateur draft and he spent his first seven major league seasons with the Tigers. He has a .256 average in 10 big league seasons with 82 homers and 322 RBIs.
