The domestic abuse charge against Rockies shortstop Jose Reyes will be dropped, deputy prosecutor Kerry Glen said Wednesday, according to the Associated Press.

Prosecutors will no longer pursue the case because Reyes’s wife, the alleged victim in the case, is no longer cooperating. Reyes pleaded not guilty to abusing a family or household member in November.

Reyes was arrested in Hawaii in October for allegedly grabbing his wife and shoving her into a sliding glass door at a hotel. His trial was scheduled to begin April 4.

Last month, MLB announced that Reyes had been placed on paid leave until the case was resolved.

The Rockies open the season on April 4 in Arizona against the Diamondbacks.
