Yankees send catcher Carlos Corporan to Rays for cash

NEW YORK (AP) The New York Yankees have traded catcher Carlos Corporan to the Tampa Bay Rays for cash.

The deal was announced Saturday.

The 32-year-old Corporan hit .178 with three home runs and 15 RBIs last season with Texas.

Corporan is a career .218 hitter with 20 homers in six seasons with Milwaukee, Houston and Texas.
