Detroit Tigers outfielder Tyler Collins was optioned to Triple A Toledo on Wednesday, the team announced.

The move came after Collins directed an obscene gesture at home fans on Monday when he misplayed a ball in the sixth inning. Collins appeared to lose track of the ball in the lights, allowing it to drop in for a hit. The home fans started booing after the play and Collins responded by raising his middle finger to the crowd and cursing.
