Chicago Cubs third baseman Kris Bryant has a mild right ankle sprain, reports MLB.com’s Carrie Muskat.

Bryant, who will not play Friday against the Atlanta Braves, is not expected to go on the disabled list with the injury.

The 24-year-old, who was the National League Rookie of the Year in 2015, injured his ankle while running the bases Thursday against the Milwaukee Brewers.

Through 21 games this season, Bryant is batting .289 with four home runs and 15 RBIs.
