Harper, Rizzo ‘ran out of stuff to talk about’ during six-walk game
Bryce Harper spent a ton of time standing on first base during Sunday’s game, drawing six walks and reaching on a hit by a pitch in his seven plate appearances against the Cubs. This means he had seven conversations with first baseman Anthony Rizzo after his walks up the first base line.
The two spent a lot of time with each other. So much time, that the two didn’t even know what to say to each other by the seventh trip.
“Honestly, we ran out of stuff to talk about,” Rizzo toldreporters after the game. “We talked about life, baseball, everything.”
