Jake Arrieta addresses Stephen Strasburg's contract extension

Chicago Cubs ace Jake Arrieta hints that he may be worth more than Washington Nationals pitcher Stephen Strasburg's $175 million deal over seven years, reports ESPN's Jesse Rogers.
Arrieta was asked for his thoughts on the contract extension and whether he may fetch more.
“I'll let you judge that,” Arrieta told reporters. “Just look at the numbers.”
Arreita is 6-0 this season with a 1.13 ERA while Strasburg stands at 5-0 with a 2.76. Arrieta has a 0.92 ERA over his last 27 starts.
Arrieta, who is represented by Scott Boras, is set to make $10.7 million and has one year left of arbitration before he can hit the free agent market after the 2017 season. He also told reporters that he would not give the Cubs a home-town discount.

“I made it clear I like Chicago,” the reigning National League Cy Young award winner said. “I think everyone knows that. If I had it my way, I'd stay here. That's just one side of the story. We'll see.”
The Cubs have the best record in baseball at 25–7.
