Jose Bautista welcomed his former Blue Jays teammate David Price back to Toronto on Sunday with a towering two-run homer in the fifth inning of a 5-3 loss to the Red Sox.
Bautista took an 88 mph offering from Price deep to left, ringing the foul pole near the fifth deck to give Toronto a 2-0 lead. It was the sixth career home run Price had surrendered to Bautista, who came in hitting .364 off the southpaw.
According to Statcast, the ball traveled a projected 395 feet, and left Bautista's bat at 108 mph.
Price left the Blue Jays to sign a seven-year, $217 million deal with Boston this past off-season. In his first start back at the Rogers Centre, Price allowed two runs on five hits and three walks over 6 1/3 innings, striking out three.
