The Minnesota Twins have placed outfielder Miguel Sano on the 15-day disabled list with a strained left hamstring and have recalled Max Kepler from Triple A, the team announced Tuesday.

The Twins fell 7–4 to the Oakland Athletics on Tuesday night. Sano left the game after straining his hamstring while running to first base during the third inning. The 23-year-old is hitting .236 with 11 home runs and 26 RBI.

Kepler, who appeared in nine games with the Twins earlier this year, is hitting .282 with four doubles, six triples, one home run and 19 RBI in 30 games with the Red Wings this season.
