Rays place Guyer on 15-day DL, recall Franklin

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) The Tampa Bay Rays placed outfielder Brandon Guyer on the 15-day disabled list on Sunday with a left hamstring strain, and recalled infielder Nick Franklin from Triple-A Durham.

Guyer started 29 of the past 33 games for Tampa Bay, and was hitting .271 with six home runs and 14 RBIs. Guyer said he felt the injury in the previous series against Kansas City and felt it again on Friday night when he grounded out in his final at-bat.

Franklin hit .258 with five home runs and 23 RBIs in 51 games for Durham this season. He's hit .203 with 16 home runs, 58 RBIs and nine stolen bases in 174 major league games.
