Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Carl Crawford has been designated for assignment, the team announced Sunday.

Catcher/infielder Austin Barnes has been recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Crawford will now have to clear waivers before the Dodgers make the next decision about the veteran’s future.

The 34-year-old has struggled throughout the 2016 season, hitting .185 with 6 RBIs through 30 games.

Barnes is hitting .306 with eight doubles and 11 RBIs with Oklahoma City this season.
