Reds activate C Skipworth, send him to Double-A

CINCINNATI (AP) The Reds reinstated catcher Kyle Skipworth from the 60-day disabled list on Thursday and outrighted him to Double-A Pensacola.

Skipworth signed a minor league deal the Reds in the offseason and had surgery on his right ankle during spring training. He completed a minor league rehabilitation assignment.

The Reds also outrighted right-hander Stephen Johnson to Triple-A Louisville after he cleared waivers.

Cincinnati plans to activate right-hander Anthony DeSclafani off the 60-day disabled list to make his season debut on Friday against the Oakland Athletics. He's been sidelined by an oblique injury late in spring training.
