TORONTO (AP) Blue Jays outfielder Jose Bautista is not in the starting lineup for Friday's game against Baltimore with a sore right thigh.

Bautista left in the sixth inning Thursday after reaching base in his first four plate appearances. Ezequiel Carrera, who replaced Bautista on Thursday, will lead off and play right field Friday.

Manager John Gibbons says Bautista felt better Friday. He hopes the slugger will be able to return Saturday.

Bautista has played in 61 of Toronto's 62 games. He's batting .234 with 12 homers and 40 RBIs.

Also Friday, injured shortstop Troy Tulowitzki left an extended spring training game in Dunedin, Florida, with soreness in his strained right quadriceps. Tulowitzki had hoped to come off the 15-day disabled list as soon as he is eligible Monday, but his return is now uncertain.

Tulowitzki is batting .204 with eight homers and 23 RBIs in 46 games.
