Atlanta Braves first baseman Freddie Freeman hit for the cycle against the Cincinnati Reds on Wednesday.
Freeman is the first player to hit for the cycle this season, and first Braves player to do so since 2008.
Freeman’s night started poorly when he struck out in the first, but he came back in the third inning to start his cycle chase with a double. Freeman got arguably the hardest part of the cycle out of the way in the fourth, when he tripled to deep right.
In the sixth, Freeman knocked one out of the park, leaving only a single left on his agenda. Freeman struck out in the bottom of the eighth, but with the game tied and headed into extras, the first baseman got another chance, and completed the cycle with a single in the 11th.

Freeman entered Tuesday hitting .258 with 11 home runs and 22 RBI.
The Braves beat the Reds 9–8 in extra innings.
