Detroit Tigers rightfielder J.D. Martinez sustained a non-displaced fracture in his right elbow colliding into the wall on Thursday.

Martinez picked up the injury attempting to field a fly ball from Kansas City Royals outfielder Paulo Orlando in the second inning. That play eventually turned into a triple for Orlando.

The 28-year-old is scheduled to undergo a CT scan on Friday.

Andrew Romine came into the game to replace Martinez, going to centerfield while Mike Aviles moved to rightfield.

Martinez is batting .287 with 12 home runs and 39 RBIs in 64 games this season.
