Dodgers' Yasiel Puig comes off disabled list

LOS ANGELES (AP) Yasiel Puig came off the disabled list for the Los Angeles Dodgers and was in the lineup for Tuesday night's game against the Washington Nationals.

The Cuban outfielder had been sidelined with a strained left hamstring. He hasn't played in a major league game since June 2, against the Cubs.

Puig went 5 for 12 with a home run, three walks, one steal and two RBIs in five rehab games with Class-A Rancho Cucamonga. He is batting .237 with five homers and 20 RBIs in 53 games with the Dodgers this season.

Puig will resume being the regular starter in right field. He was set to bat seventh.

''When he went on the DL he wasn't swinging well,'' manager Dave Roberts said. ''To move higher up in the order, you've got to perform. I want to see consistently quality at-bats with him.''

The Dodgers optioned right-hander Carlos Frias to Triple-A Oklahoma City. He had been recalled Sunday and didn't appear in a game during his call-up.
