Yankees send RHP Chad Green to Triple-A, recall Nick Goody

CLEVELAND (AP) The New York Yankees have optioned rookie right-hander Chad Green to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre a day after he allowed four home runs against Cleveland.

Green gave up three of them in the first inning of Friday's 10-2 loss, including back-to-back homers by Carlos Santana and Jason Kipnis to start the game. He also allowed a 462-foot home run to Mike Napoli in the third that nearly hit the left field scoreboard.

Green is 1-2 with a 7.04 ERA in four appearances (three starts). He recorded his first major league win July 3 against San Diego, allowing one run in six innings.

Right-hander Nick Goody was recalled from Triple-A on Saturday. He has made 19 relief appearances with the Yankees with no record and a 4.91 ERA.
