NEW YORK (AP) San Diego pitcher Drew Pomeranz and outfielders Starling Marte of Pittsburgh and Jay Bruce of Cincinnati have been added to the NL All-Star team as injury replacements.

Major League Baseball also announced Saturday that outfielders Marcell Ozuna of Miami and Carlos Gonzalez of Colorado will start for the NL. They were the highest-ranked NL outfielders on the ballots picked by players.

The changes came after outfielders Yoenis Cespedes of the Mets and Dexter Fowler of the Cubs were injured and unable to play Tuesday night in San Diego.

Pomeranz will be at home at Petco Park as a replacement for Mets pitcher Noah Syndergaard, who left Friday night's start with arm fatigue.

Pomeranz is 8-7 with a 2.47 ERA for the host Padres. The 27-year-old lefty is a first-time All-Star.

Marte made his first All-Star team. He is among the NL leaders in hitting, steals and outfield assists.

Bruce is now a three-time All-Star. He had 18 home runs and 62 RBIs going into Saturday.
