Strike Zone podcast: Second half predictions; ESPN's Doc & Darryl
In this week's edition of The Strike Zone podcast, it's time to tackle the upcoming second half of the season, as Ted Keith and Stephen Cannella make their predictions for the rest of the year. On top of that, Ted welcomes Michael Bonfiglio, co-director of the ESPN 30 for 30 film Doc & Darryl, onto the show to discuss his documentary.
First up, Ted and Steve revisit their preseason picks at the midway point of the season before taking a look at what's coming up after the All-Star break and making their picks for division and wild card winners in the American League and National League. After that, Ted interviews Bonfiglio, who was the co-creator, along with Judd Apatow, of Doc & Darryl, an ESPN documentary on the rise and fall of former Mets superstars Doc Gooden and Darryl Strawberry. The two discuss the making of the movie and what it was like working with Gooden and Strawberry, and whether the two have truly left behind their pasts.
