Pirates recall RHP Tyler Glasnow to start Saturday vs. Phillies

The Pittsburgh Pirates have recalled right-handed pitcher Tyler Glasnow from Triple-A Indianapolis and scheduled him to start against the Phillies on Sunday, the team announced.

Glasnow is the top-ranked prospect in the Pirates system and the No. 8 overall prospect for the entire league, according to MLB.com.

Along with the Glasnow move, Pittsburgh has recalled catcher Elias Diaz, optioned AJ Schugel to Triple-A and placed Eric Fryer on the paternity list.

Glasnow has made one start for the Pirates, giving up four earned runs on three hits through 5.1 innings in his MLB debut.

The 22-year-old is 7–3 with a 1.94 ERA in 18 starts at the Triple-A level this season.
