Marlins slugger Giancarlo Stanton absolutely smashed a two-run homer off Mets righthander Jacob deGrom on Saturday night.
With the Marlins down 2–1 in the bottom of the third, Stanton took a hanging slider 441 feet to leftfield, giving the Marlins a 3–2 lead. The homer, his 21st of the year, was his fifth-longest; he hit one an incredible 474 feet in May, and has hit three others further than 440 feet.
According to Statcast, the ball left Stanton’s bat at 116 mph, and at an angle of 28 degrees.

The game itself, hyped as a pitcher’s duel, didn’t live up to expectations. DeGrom left after 3 2/3 innings, and was charged with five earned runs on 10 hits and a walk, while Fernandez yielded two early runs himself, though he settled down and lasted seven. Stanton finished 4 for 5 to lead Miami to a 7–2 win.
