Red Sox television analyst Jerry Remy left Saturday night’s NESN broadcast after being struck by a falling monitor during the game’s first inning.
As the Red Sox and Twins began to play, wind swirled at Fenway Park in Boston, causing dust to fly in the air, and balls to change direction. Umpires ordered several stoppages.
Amid the conditions, Remy was hit, and was sent home shortly afterward. According to the Associated Press, Remy is expected to return for Sunday’s broadcast.
Steve Lyons, a former player who fills in on NESN from time to time, replaced Remy.
