ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) Boston Red Sox manager John Farrell has been ejected after an animated argument over a called strike in a game against the Los Angeles Angels.

Farrell was tossed in the fourth inning Sunday.

With two on, one out and the game scoreless, Dustin Pedroia took a called strike three on the outside corner from Angels starter Tyler Skaggs.

Farrell immediately ran on to the field to argue that the curveball was off the plate and engaged in a lively discussion with umpire Gabe Morales. Farrell was ejected a few minutes later and escorted away by crew chief Joe West.

Farrell was fined for a previous ejection on May 9, after returning to the field to restrain an angry David Ortiz following an ejection.
