Jason Kipnis: I'd love to see Bartman throw out World Series first pitch

Cleveland Indians second baseman Jason Kipnis grew up a Chicago Cubs fan and would welcome infamous fan Steve Bartman to throw out the first pitch at one of the upcoming World Series games at Wrigley Field.

“I would love to see him throw out a first pitch,” Kipnis told reporters. “Everyone would go nuts.”

Bartman became famous when he sat in the front row along the left-field foul line and extended his arms to try and catch a foul ball in the eighth​ inning but interfered with Cubs outfielder Moises Alou with five outs to go in the eighth inning of Game 6 of the National League Championships against the Florida Marlins. The Cubs went on to blow their lead in Game 6 and lose Game 7 to Florida. The Marlins defeated the Yankees in the World Series.

The Cubs are now in their first World Series since 1945 and look to win their first championship since 1908.

Bartman was escorted by security from the game has not been seen in public at a Cubs game since the incident. He remains in hiding.
