HAUNTED HISTORY

The Cubs and Indians take a break on Halloween, with Cleveland holding a 3-2 lead. After the day off, they'll meet at Progressive Field on Tuesday night when Game 2 winner Jake Arrieta starts for Chicago against Josh Tomlin, who will be on three days' rest.

Both teams are trying to shake the ghouls and goblins from their past. In 1997, the Indians were just a double-play grounder from their first World Series championship since 1948 before the Marlins came back.

The Cubs haven't won the crown since 1908. They're trying to become the first team to overcome a 3-1 Series deficit since the 1985 Royals.

FINE FORECAST

The weather is shaping up nicely for Game 6 - none of those chilly, wet conditions that sometimes get in the way of clean, crisp ball at this time. It's supposed to be in the mid-70s during the afternoon Tuesday in Cleveland and in the 60s at night, with only a slight chance of rain.

REST, ASSURED

Cubs closer Aroldis Chapman gets a day to relax his rocket left arm after throwing 42 pitches Sunday night for an eight-out save in Game 5. With his team needing a win to extend the Series, Chapman entered in the seventh inning for the first time since 2012. He worked a career-high 2 2/3 innings to close out a 3-2 victory. Chapman fired 15 pitches at 100 mph or faster.

BACK IN THE PICTURE

Now that the Series is headed back to Cleveland, young slugger Kyle Schwarber will have another chance to make a major impact as Chicago's designated hitter. Sidelined nearly all season following knee surgery, Schwarber returned for the first two games of the Fall Classic and went 3 for 7 with two RBIs and a pair of walks. But he wasn't medically cleared to play defense at Wrigley Field, so the National League rules limited him to one pinch-hitting appearance over the next three games.
