New York Mets relief pitcher Jeurys Familia is expected to be suspended at least 30 games despite having domestic violence charges against him dropped, reports the New York Daily News.

Familia was arrested on Oct. 31 in Fort Lee, New Jersey after his wife, Bianca Rivas, called authorities and said that her husband was getting violent and drunk. Rivas had visible injuries when she spoke with police.

Familia appeared in court this week where the simple assault charges were dropped by prosecutors.

According to the report, Major League Baseball has no timetable to render a decision on if Familia will be suspended and the investigation is said to be "ongoing."

Familia, 27, was an All-Star in 2016 and led MLB with 51 saves. He had a 2.55 ERA with 84 strikeouts in 77 2/3 innings pitched for New York last season.
